I had a couple do that and used larger screws with an old fashioned regular non electric, non automatic clutch, hand held screw driver. I also put in a little wood glue also.... I follow function over form....Some need the same screws, I don't. Not really concerned about resale value, this is my home for the next 8 years anyway.....
