The tanks will hold air a very long time if your connections are tight. You need to have the compressor plugged in to be able to air your rv or truck as the pressure drops significantly when airing up a tire because of the volume of air it takes for these large tires. The Porter Cable is very popular with many on this forum and can be bought for 99.00 at Home Depot and Lowe's around the holiday's.
