My parents are on the way back from the west. They said that when the temps were high (the past few weeks) they hit the road by 5 am and were at their destination by noon at the latest. It's better to travel when cool and warming up then to travel late and into the night. If You get in any trouble You have the remainder of the day to sort things out.
