Like John, like using Microsoft Streets and Trips on our lap top. Better mapping & can see surrounding Streets better on the larger screen.
I use 2 Garmin's as a back-up, one window mount & one handheld (also use for Geocaching).
As for holding the laptop.......made a little table.
