I recommend Michelin XPS Ribs or Bridgestone Durarvis R250 as heavy/sturdy tires. None have failed me so far.
However, I lost an entire WHEEL last summer and I had to cut my Skirt Wrap off as half was peeled away (its just thin aluminum so utility knife worked well to cut it. Plastic Fender was in small pieces. Local repair shops did not have any wrap in the same shape or length and suggested I just pound out the bent portion I cut off. I was able to do so to my satisfaction on my garage floor and purchased a new plastic fender from ICON (my second one over the years). The re-installed skirt wrap joint got some extra flat head "button" screws and a piece of white Duct Tape. Not so pretty close up but fine from any distance.
And a very inexpensive DIY fix.
Good Luck!
