In our new 3160 we had four 6v Interstate batteries added to service a 2000 watt inverter. When we lived in town and just occasionally boo docked for a day or two, we used (2) 12v deep cycle batteries. If you are always in campgrounds and the battery only handles things while driving, (1) 12v would probably do okay. So, it depends on your usage - more boondocking, more power requirements, more batteries. Good luck.
