Hooking it up to the hot water line is just poor workmanship. Having the tech use that as an excuse is another poor excuse. I would also question his experience.Like you have said, you do not run the water for more than a few seconds,so it would never be hot enough to hurt anything. I would hope that Keystone at least pays to run the proper water line for you. They should be embarrassed. Good luck with that.
