A little water in the bottom of your fresh tank won't hurt a thing. When it freezes it has a place to expand. Put a little water in a glass and put it in the freezer and see what happens, nothing except the water freezes.
I gave a small compressor that I set to about 50 pounds and pressurize the water system hot water tank included. I blow the lines out several times for about a week or two. Any water that drains to the low spots gets blown out then put a little in the drains.
