We have a '05 297 RKS Mountaineer that we purchased used. The dinette wasn't permanantly when we bought it. After a few trips we realized we really didn't need four chairs for two people, so I removed two of them. I turn the table sideways for travel and easy access to the kitchen and when we stop I turn the table around.
The two chairs are strapped to the table and so far haven't moved at all when traveling.
