Yes, the heat strip is internal to the a/c unit. However, I would pass on a heat strip. It puts out the same heat as a space heater. Plus you have the blower noise. OR spend the money and get a heat pump/a/c.
We use the fireplace in the back and a Vornado (brand) space heater in the bedroom. The Vornado is very quite. Plus you can move it around if need be.
