Thanks for the explanation. Not what I had in my minds eye. While running permanent power to the 5r at home and checking the batteries ability to run the residential refrigerator, I thought I would try out the kluge of wire that this forum recommended to get for emergency hook up. Seems to work exactly how you described. And the EMS does not complain. Have 120 at each "leg" out of the EMS. Anything run over 20 amps will trip the house breaker.

One other thing of note. The reefer is going on 24 hours and the VDC at the inverter is down to 11.9. Reefer still showing 120 watts. The reefer run time has been low due to the ambient temp being from 40-60. Fairly sure if 100% instead of 20% would have died near 4-6 hours.
