One of my AC units was erratically cycling. I have the two AC configuration with single zone thermostats. I found my issue. The thermostat in the kitchen was mounted on the wall adjacent to the bath. The hole in the non insulated wall was very large. The sensor was directly over the hole. I insulated the hole with foam and put electrical outlet insulation between the thermostat and wall. The thermostat is now sensing air temp instead of the interior wall temperature and it is no cycling properly.
