Get a can of 3M Adhesive Remover. I got it at an O'Reilly Auto Parts store. It basically melts the adhesive. The can has a squirt tip. I would hold the tip against the trailer just above the adhesive and drag it across while gently squeezing the can and holding an old towel below to catch the run down. That allowed the liquid to "sheet" down over the adhesive. With the towel thoroughly soaked I would just wipe away the adhesive. The wetter the towel the easier it came off.

On a side note: If you read the open roads forum on rv.net you will eventually see that it is not just Montana. Graphics/decal complaints pop up on just about every trailer brand, and even motor home, from time to time.
