I just read Cummings is using compacted graphite iron in their Diesel HO engines. If true it’s certainly better than cast iron. It’s used in some tractor trailer engines, Cummings 3 L Diesel, Ford’s 6.7 and 2.7 Ecoboost and other engines. CGI is stronger, quieter with less vibration and more wear resistance than iron.
