You said you are "newbies" have you experienced a 5th wheel without the leveling/stabilizing system? It's night and day. Maybe your expectations are too high? Unit will never be completely movement free. We spent the first night in our 3400 yesterday. Wife said the levelers made a huge difference over our other fiver w/ the old style stabilizers and pin tripod particularly with my 250lbs walking around.
