If turning off the converter circuit stops the noise it is probably the fan in it. They are on a variable temperature switch, and when they start they buzz in between stopped and running. Irritating, especially when trying to nap. My test converter in my shop does it for hours whenever the temp gets above 80 unless I am using 12 volts coming out of it to charge a battery or power a circuit. Once the fan fully starts it runs quiet. Checking all power panel connections is a needed maintenance job once a year though, vibration is our enemy.
