Don't use the ether bond, been there, done that, did not work well.
I found some clear duct tape, that has cross material, like you would find in shipping tape.
I used it on the flap on the awning and it has worked well.
Where it is the topper, you may want to check this out.
Before you put the tape on, wipe the area down with alcohol to prep.
Not the alcohol you drink!!
Weather has been great in AZ, finally it is cooling down inot the 70's
