There is also a clear, awning repair tape that is available. I am sure I have seen it at camping world. I would be concerned with the thickness of the eternabond tape and the resulting wrinkles that would occur when the awning is rolled up. Would those wrinkles cause problems in other areas as time goes by?? I don't think duct tape would work well either as it usually does not last too well in exposed places that are subject to weather.
