I could barely open my black valve last summer on the way to Alaska. Went to a dealer in Whitehorse and they took a look and it and said the screws holding the 2 sides of the valve together were too tight and just loosened them a bit. I was skeptical, but it did work after that. Still a little tight but much better. Just something else to consider...
