I have always traveled with my gas fridge running. Never experienced any problems. I was a fire investigator for about 30 years and can not recall a single fire in the fridge from doing this. I have investigated many RV fires in the area of the fridge and most were a result of a failed cooling system allowing the flammable gas to escape into the compartment with an open flame burning this is common with this type of fridge. The Dometic and Norcold recalls are a result of this occurring.Others were a result of electrical failures in the wiring running through the fridge compartment. By the way the recall repair does not stop the cooling system from failing, it just makes it a little harder for the gas to ignite if or when it does fail.
