If it runs on propane, you can leave it on. The experts say it is not a good idea traveling with propane on, because if the fridge sparks to ignite, and you are at a gas station, there could be a problem. Having said that, we always travel with ours on, and a poll I saw online once showed at two thirds of people do.


If it is a residential fridge, I cannot offer any advice.
