Here are the easy formulas:
1. GCWR minus the weight of the truck (fully loaded ready to tow) = tow capacity.
2. Weigh the truck, subtract that weight from the truck's GVWR = truck cargo capacity.
Number 2 is what causes 250/2500 diesel trucks problems....pin weight is too high, resulting in the truck being over weight.
