I had them installed when I bought the unit new in 2001 and they are still there. My neighbor has a 1999 and he just had his replaced this year because they tore a little in the sewn seam. The new ones do not have the sewn seams, they use glue or something so should last longer.
I would install them again if I bought a new unit.
I have seen units where they delaminated for some reason and had to be replaced but I guess it was a manufacturing problem, but they would never admit that.
