Remote control ceiling vent crack

Little rain down in southern Arizona the other night and we woke up to water all over the kitchen-lounge floor. Got up on the roof to check it out and found a 1 1/2" long crack in the lower corner of the ceiling vent frame. Just enough so when the rain came down, it guttered around the vent to the crack and came right on into the RV. Looks like it is the corner opposite the arm that pulls the vent cover down to the cover frame and the stress cracked the plastic frame. Anyone else experienced this yet? I caulked up the crack and the area around it and hope we don't see anymore water.
