"A common problem and a major repair"? Is this the '08 unit you list on your sig., or a new one? Whichever, someone left the valves open for a long time and it could just be a little rust in the cable housings. Best thing after using the penetrating oil would be some graphite stuff used on motorcycle control cables to lubricate them.
