I find that you can do some minor changes/movement of the jacks and the "Return to Hitch" will still function, but if you've changed it too much from the original auto level position it tends to refuse to return to hitch and won't "Retract All" either.
I don't lose any sleep over it and just raise or lower the front to hookup and just manually raise all the Jacks.
