Frame strength

I dont have any experience with rear end loading - but I was tinkering with the idea of carrying a champion generator (90 lbs + a hitch platform maybe?) off the back of my previous RV (keystone Laredo travel trailer) and after “researching” numerous forums looking for someone to say “oh hell yes - do it!”...I came away thinking it was not a good idea. Some RVs have the built-in carrier on the back, and our Montes come with a rear hitch, so the engineers designed the frame accordingly, but I have never read up on the weight limits are for the hitch or the platforms. I think the engineers design the frame for a margin of safety for the loads listed on the sticker but they don’t overbuild them like my neighbor builds barbecue pits. I would think you would need to add some supplemental stiffeners and supports to carry the load but I’m not sure about the additional sway that might be created. Anyway - like I said -I have no experiences to share...just an opinion.
