I agree, Fords towing charts are nearly impossible to figure out.

BB TX I looked up your Montana. It is listed as having a dry weight of 10450lbs, cargo weight of 3810lbs meaning fully loaded it could weigh in at 14260lbs. They also list a pin weight at 2260lbs which is more that likely BS since 20% of 14260lbs = 2852lbs.

So by my previous #s of 850lbs+ in the truck and 2852lbs of pin weight you would be around 600lbs over weight.

I am not trying beat anyone up here, just trying to figure all this very confusing info out for myself also.

The vast majority of people that tow anything have NEVER weighed there set up fully loaded ready for travel.

I have done so on many occasions. If fact I just did so a month ago and discovered I over loaded my 2014 DUALLY by 700lbs because I loaded it to the hilt with fire wood for a 2 week trip.

My whole point here is that anyone can state #s all they want but the proof is in the actual recorded weights.

I encourage everyone to get there rig weighed fully loaded. You may be surprised at the findings.
