On my 2018.5 Montana 3921FB (Legacy) had the same problem. Dealer replaced the entire cord and reel with a new one under warranty. Tech who installed the new one made a couple of modifications to reel by adding a more substantial threaded rod which goes across the reel. So far so good since replacement in Sep of 2018.
