I have a 2000 Bonneville SSEI with the same problem. Have had it replace when it was under warranty. Anymore they just lube it every time I have it serviced at dealership. Have a 2002 GMC and I have never had a problem with it. I think it has something to do with the height adjustable steering.... Could be the driver of the Bonneville...DW. Hope she don't read this...JB
