Our last rig had the Dometic (RM28XX) fridge that did not have any external temperature adjustment control. The temp was suppose to adjust automatically. If you wanted to make it colder or warmer you could move the thermistor up or down on the fins. I never noticed a great deal of difference moving it though. I added a ventilation fan at the back of the refrigerator on the outside and this had the greatest affect of reducing the inside refer temp in warm weather.

On this rig we have a Norcold refer and the different temp settings do a fine job at controlling the temp.
