Randye, Keystone does not recommend slide supports. There was a period of time in which they manual did say as yours does. As soon as it was pointed out to them by this forum they removed that statement. Or so I'm told.

I also would not recommend them. The slides are plenty strong. At one of the factory tours our tour guide walked on top of a slide to show how strong it is. Using a support gains you nothing in my opinion and opens you to potential slide damage. And that would not be covered by warranty, by the way.

This all is my opinion, of course.
