For the manual on the pump get an extended phillips head screwdriver bit and reverse it. On the battery situation, I carry one of those jump start batteries in my truck and have used it both to jump the battery in the rig and get the slides in and also used the cigarette lighter plug in on it to power an air compressor to pump up a tire on my old TT so I could limp to the tire store.
