Don't forget about lubing the slides as Stiles suggested. I've had slides get balky, even sometimes hopping a little as they travel in or out, and lubing takes care of it. It reduces the load and thus may no longer pop that breaker. If lubing and doing the simple checks, such as for tight fittings, doesn't do it, then I'd look for something more difficult.
