Alan, enjoy that new 3400, they are very nice units.
Our new unit had, I say, had the sewer boom attached. I removed the assembly so that I could use the extra valve at the end in front of the cap. I also use the clear turn down section so I'm satisfied my tanks are empty. To use either of these attachments, the boom needs to be removed.
As far as storing the extra hoses, 20-30 feet that didn't fit in the boom, I will cut and install the same sewer door found on the older models. There is plenty of room above the sewer outlet to do this install.
Also, read rames14 post about his new Big Sky. He is very happy with his sewer boom, so you can get another look at using it.
That's what is nice about the MOC, you can get different views on just about anything on the Montanas!
I may change my ideas of the boom in the future, but this is how I'm working with it for now.
