I just wrote a longer reply, but got timed out and it didn’t seem to get out.
I’ll try again. I tried a similar method to yours last summer but had poor success due to my jagged, cracked edges on the lexcan I cut. They were fastened to the outside with small plastic toggle storm window holders screwed in the aluminum around the frame. The lexcan flexed in the wind, fell out and cracked up. Using wider sheets and the proper cutting tool to make smooth edge cuts with the full Velcro around the perimeter would help a lot.
