To answer your question, what you suggest should be doable in theory, much would depend on how your model is laid out and wired.
For ourselves, one of my as yet unfulfilled projects is to install a separate power supply that I can run from the 15/20 amp outlet that is usually provided on the campsite power post. I figure I can use this run a heater or coffee-pot/tea kettle without using any of the trailer's normal 50 amp supply.
