Phil,

Unless there is fraud involved you do not have an issue from an insurance standpoint leaving keys in your car or truck in most states. People make mistakes. You can do something illegal such as speeding, driving recklessly, drunk etc and your insurance still has to cover you unless they can prove fraud.
