Thanks again for the great information. I used Charlie's search and found what I needed. I also took John's suggestion and decided on the self adjusting type. I found that the Dexter should replace the AL-KO. I did some further research and found there were 2 versions the 6,000 lb and the 7,000 lb. The only difference in the 6,000 lb axle brake and the 7,000 lb axle brake was the 7,000 had a stronger magnet and different composition of the linings so I decided to go with the 7,000 lb version for the added braking. I purchased the Dexter
12" x 2" NEV-R-ADJUST™ Electric Brake Assy - L.H. / 7k #K23-464-00
12" x 2" NEV-R-ADJUST™ Electric Brake Assy - R.H. / 7k #K23-465-00

for $63.50 each. Best price I found. I will update post when I receive them and get them installed.
