Sutton West Virginia - KOA

We left Pilot Mountain State Park campground on Aug 31, 2022 after staying there the entire month of August as their campground host ("Is it still Narvina? post - click here.) and made it to Sutton West Virginia to the KOA for an overnight.

I was NOT looking forward to lading in our next campground because the absolute darkness at night at Pilot Mountain was so magnificent, I figured nothing could compare to that.

When we arrived at this KOA and night fell, I was absolutely delighted! We had only one other campers beside us, there were no street lights or campground lights, and it was dark. Of course, we were the only ones in that section of the park too with only one other camper. We were in the upper section, on top of a ridge, it overlooked a middle school and we could hear (and see) the kids practicing foot ball in the evening and in the morning, kids and teachers were outside in the yard area. But that was down over the hill only viewable when I walked to the edge to look over.

In the lower sections was a variety of campsites for longer and shorter trailers. The other pull through section was below. The campground was clean, neat, well maintained, and very, very quiet (and did I say .... dark at night). Their hiking trails don't amount to much though, bust still for the entire 120 feet of length it was, it sure was nice.

Check in is at the Days Inn and it's really a strange entrance. The park roads are twisty and curvy, but I had no problem navigating dragging my 41 foot Montana!

I give this KOA 5 stars. It was everything one would expect ... especially if looking for an overnight. The campground had use of the swimming pool in the motel. And the motel had a restaurant inside. We ate Supper at the restaurant because we were just too bushed out to fix supper in the camper.

Here's some photos:
