I slid the board through the opening within the A/C unit, if you have a roof vent, just take the plastic trim down and insert it there. If you don't have an A/C unit in the bedroom, measure carefully because if and when you put the unit in, you want the fan and the A/C to be positioned.
No, just the screws holding the fan bracket, which is plenty sturdy.
We love the fan, it should be an option at the factory. We have one above the bed in the stick house.
