Hello Phil,

We do not have the 3400 but the 3075 RL. About the first thing we did was get rid of the King mattress and bought a good queen instead. We found the extra space was great and a good mattress even better.

All we did was cut the plywood board the mattress is on down to size. Used a saber saw and it took about 5 minutes. In our case there was more than enough overhang on the top plywood so we still had about an inch on each side remaining over the sides of the bed box.

You may want to measure the top to be sure you can cut enough.
