Jim I think you have a LB truck, same year as mine. I have posted this picture before and this is what I did to accommodate my Honda 3000. I designed it and had a shop cut and weld it together. The only thing I would do differently would be have the generator compartment about 1" wider. I just have to lift the lid, the front folds down and it can run in there forever just required rotating the exhaust grill 180 degrees so it blows straight up. Mine has what they call a cold weather package or something like that. Perhaps something to consider as it is always with you and inside the tool compartment I carry a 120V 130psi air compressor which runs off the generator.
