At one time I believed the only thing a 4X4 would do is leave you stuck farther out in the sticks. When I became a boat owner and now RV owner (sold the boat), I am a firm believer in a 4X4 for all the reasons previously given. You only need to be stuck in sandy soil once to come to the embarrassing conclusion you really need a 4X4.
