Exactly. Shelf just sits on the sideboards easily unscrewed. The bottom piece that runs the length of the closet left to right was the headache for our washer install. Could not get it removed without damage. I ended up leaving it in place, installing a drain pan, placing 2/4s in the outside front floor to level the washer with the bottom piece, and with a buddy and two straps, lifting and then sliding the washer in place.
