It would be more accurate to say criminal, but it does go to prove that very few people that design these units are campers. A fact confirmed by several people in the Montana organization. I digress, we have been camped next to 2 fifth wheel that went up in flames due to a faulty refrigerator. My father lost a motor home the same way. I installed a temp sensitive bottle behind our frig, put a small bottle next to the frig on the inside. One next to the door, and the fifth in the cab of our truck. I bought these from Mac the Fire guy at the 2017 national rally and am very glad I did. I also have a welders blanket on each side of the bed. If we can get out eveything else is replaceable.
Something to spend more money on...ARP to shut down refrig before it goes up in fire.
