On top of the pump assy is a black DC reversing contactor called a Trombetta. It changes rotation of your pump depending on what you are calling your slides to do. Make sure all connections are tight and unplug and plug back in the small wires to eliminate a bad connection there. This may or may not be your issue, but you ahve to start somewhere.
