I am 99% sure that if you are not served a notice in person within 90 days of the ticket, they throw it out. They (who?) send out a process server at the address of the vehicle owner - at least sometimes.

And if your picture is not the one driving, you can send it back. But they want to know who the person is. I think some people just say they don't know.

My wife got nailed for red light running (completely innocent of course!) She went to the 'class' to keep it off her record for insurance purposes. Everyone in the class laughed at her for even responding to the ticket. But of course most of them are losers or they wouldn't be there in the first place if they think they can throw them away.

I don't know what the state or company does if you have out of state plates.
