Without question I'd go through the Bay Bridge Tunnel and bypass Washington. I went to Fredericksburg, VA a couple of times this month and the traffic on I-95 north of Richmond, VA was terrible. It took about 1 1/2 hours to go about 40 miles.

I'm not familiar with the area; what tunnel? Is there a tunnel associated with the bay bridge; highway 301? Does the map I posted about five post up look like a good route?
