I don't know about the 8000# axles, but my 3000RK came with 5200# axles and I switched them out for 7000#, It was easy and the axles cost less than $150 ea. with new seals. And I know that the springs are not 7000# rated. The brakes where the same as on the 6-7000 axles. But the bent axle was my problem.
